  • problems with php4.1.2

    my host just updated to php 4.1.2 and I have been having problems ever since.

    I have a few questions but will post them later.

    first can you tell me what is wrong with this.
    PHP Code:
    if ((!isset($_POST['pass'])) or (!isset($_REQUEST['pass'])) or (!$_SESSION['pass'])){
            echo
    $_SESSION['pass'];

    as it will echo the right pass from the session. and just so you know I have tried

    (!isset($_SESSION['pass'])) with the same luck.

    not sure what the problem you're having is, but make sure to session_start(); before you do the check..

    although the manual says this is no longer needed, i find i have to do a session_start() before referencing $_SESSION properly

    oh and, your little if row reads (in plain english)

    if post-pass isn't set, or if request-pass isn't set, or if session-pass isn't (eg. if it's null), then echo session-pass

    basically, the part inside the if case will never be echoed
    My open eyes see everything, and you see nothing. . .

      that is the whole problem. it is being echoed out eventhough it is set.

        what happens is that if any ONE of those is true it will echo it out. so I had to use AND to make it work properly. sounds wierd to me but if it works that is fine.
