As I prepare to make some final changes to my mysql db, I just had a few questions on how I should name fields in perspective to their table (or at least the best way). I have it setup now so that in table "user", all fields are prefixed by "user_", so user_id, user_name, etc., and so on with each table. So say if table "test" had a field to point to the user the entry related to, their would be a field in "test" named user_id.

So for you pro's out there, am I just wasting space with the prefixes? Should I only prefix fields when I'm correspending it to another table? Tips? Pointers? Thanks.
