    The date on the post is September 2000... why was this bumped? It's over 3 and a half years old.

    vb will provide you with the IP automatically, so maybe you should upgrade. Otherwise, maybe you should contact your software's support department for help.

    Code:

    Username IP Ban
    Test 000.000.000.0 (Check box to ban IP)
    Test1 000.000.000.1 (Check box to ban IP)
    So I can login, and ban IP, then if the IP is banned, they can no longer view your website. It will pop up a different page and it will say
    Code:

    Sorry, the webmaster has banned your IP adress, you may contact the webmaster at TheSkunkRulezUT@yahoo.com
    And a place on the website where you can uncheck the IP ban.
    So once they post, there IP shows up and then, and it can be banned.
    Thanks.

    Why did you ban him?
    bad language?
    etc.?

    He should have gotten the answer by now as I have already banned him on 3 different ip ranges from my forum.

    Have you gotten the answer yet?

    if not,
    this is how I do it

    Code:
    <?
    function logip($path) {
    	global $REMOTE_ADDR;
    	writetolog($path, "$REMOTE_ADDR*\n");
    }

    function parseips($ips) {
    	return str_replace("*", "<BR>", $ips);
    }

    function writetolog($logfile, $texttowrite) {
    	$filenum = fopen($logfile,"a");
    	fwrite($filenum,$texttowrite);
    	fclose($filenum);
    }
    ?>
    that goes into a included function file....

    and this goes into the page that you are logging the IP's

    Code:
    <?
    logip("ip/ip.txt");
    ?>
    and thats it,
    it will log it like this

    Code:
    <IP NUMBER>*
    {newline}
    then when you want to view the IP's, you call the parse IP function.

    Code:
    <?
    require("php-cgi/functions.php");
    echo parseips(openfile("ip/ip.txt"));
    ?>
    I have found that using * and {newline} is the best way to log them....

    this is what ip.txt looks like

    Code:
    192.168.1.1*
    192.168.1.1*
    192.168.1.1*
    192.168.1.1*
    192.168.1.1*
    192.168.1.1*
    192.168.1.1*
    and this is what viewvisitors.php (the file to view the IP's) looks like after its run

    Code:
    192.168.1.1
    192.168.1.1
    192.168.1.1
    192.168.1.1
    192.168.1.1
    192.168.1.1
    192.168.1.1

    I hope this helped....

    I originally designed this to log all IP's for my business.... but after i found out that was illegal... I am just using it for my BB now.

    I really need this script. Maybe you can make it an </HTML TAG> I dunno, But I need this badly, I also need a page made that I can upload to my webspace, and I have to login for this page and it will show the IP adress's of the people that have posted and I can ban one if I would like and they would not beable to come to my wesite anymore.

    You can just use the admin script to browse around and find it, or click the IP: Logged link.

    1. Drop the [request] - it serves no purpose other than to annoy the natives
    2. You're not even running vB, so it wouldn't be a code hack...
