  • how do i do ssi in php?

how do i do server side includes in php?
i've read about fopen and passthru to parse external files and programs but both seem sort of extrenuous for just wanting to include some small text like a nav bar.

              What if...

Is there a way to just run some PHP code in a template?

like if I dropped some <? whatever ?> into a template is there a way to make it go?

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but...

You'd have to add the function to global.php, and then reference the function as a variable inside your template.

What I ended up doing is defining all of the stuff I needed to in header, and turned on the option to parse header as PHP, then just called the variable that I decalared in header. Works great
