Showing who's online on an external page

So far on my site I have a forum login setup on my front page thanks to the mod from vBulletin.org and I have the latests threads displaying too thanks to a thread by Floris. The last thing I want is to be able to display the members currently browsing the forums or at least the number of members and guests online on my front page.

Does anyone know how I could go about doing this? Thanks.

I've been thinking about doing the same thing (more or less), but haven't had much success so far. My next plan is to simply copy the entire template for Who's Online to the new page and then insert other things right after the navbar. I want to put in subscribed threads and also New Posts (is that what you mean by "latest threads"? if so where's this thread by Floris?).
