  • running php script form shell prompt?

After running the importer I have a nice vbulletin forum. But I want to use the cleaner.php script of jerry to cleanup the postings. You can find the script in /impex/tools/cleaner.php

If I run this script within the browser, everything works fine. But this take a long time since i have more than 500.000 postings. Therefore I have now changed in php.ini the setting max_execution_time to 1000 since I takes a lot of time.

But that's not the best way I think.

Better is to run the php script from the shell prompt. But this don’t work. )-:

    #php cleaner.php

I get 1 sec no prompt, there nothing happen, and then prompt again.

What can be the problem or reason of this be?

I'm running Debian, and have php 4.3.4 installed,

    Thanks for help or advice,

I don't think it is written to run as shell script. But to run php as shell script it needs to have the right permissions set and a first line of code that looks something like #!/usr/local/bin/php -q
