  • Installed php, how did php4 files get on?

I downloaded and installed 3.0.1 full version, php files, in zip compression. It installed just fine and works well. All the files had the php extension, there were no other extensions. A couple days later, I noticed that for almost every file with a php extension, there also existed a file of the same name except it's extension was php4. Double the files. What created the php4 files? Did someone try to run something with a php4 extension and tada, here they are?

Can I simply delete the php4 files leaving the php files alone?

    Confused in PA!

This would be somthing to do with your hosts setup, They might have changed somthing on the server. there is nothing in vBulletin that would do this.
