When this version comes out soon, I plan to upgrade, make serious template mods, add hacks, and make a perm layout. I was wondering though, if you were going to release like 3.0.1 like 1 month later. Because that would mean I would have out dated swoftware. I was just wondering if when vb3 gold comes out I could settle down for awhile and not have to upgrade every frickin month and have to redo all my work. Thanks for any info.

You can count on updates. When those updates will be no one knows. If vB3 is perfect with no bugs then you won't see an update for a while. Otherwise we will be releasing updates to fix any bugs that come up.
And just because we release an update doesn't mean you have to upgrade. -
The third digit is for maintaince releases, maintaince releases don't change anything feature wise so you shouldn't lose anything besides mods.Comment

The thing is with the gold version being released is that a great majority has been waiting to upgrade - rather then try a development version.
So it would probably at least double the usage of version 3 by users, which means new bugs and situations come up that haven't been encountered yet. (most likely)
If a security issues comes up and there are some bugs that have been fixed and new ones discovered, a follow up release after gold to fix those issues wouldn't be too long.
The choice to start mega hacking your site is yours. It is always a guess.Comment
