I like vB because its easier to administrate. There's not many life-changing user-side features that either ware doesn't have, so that doesn't really bug me. But as soon as you get used to the vB3 control panel, it's outstanding -- its just so damn powerful!

I'm waiting eagerly for IPB2, though

If youve never owned vBulletin or tried it how can you really comment on it?

IPB is better by far. And when 2.0 comes out it will have even more features for you to choose from. IPB is free and has lots of skin and hacks out for it. It's faster than vB. If you choose not to register your IPB there are lots of free IPB support sites out there for you to choose from

In the end just try the both of them out and see which one you like better.

hELLO there.
I have currently IPB 1.3 installed on my board.
and i have lots of hacks installed

Once i buy Vbullein 3.0 can the technical support convert my forums to vbullein 3.0 ?? without loosing any posts.

I could have done it myself. but i have lots of hacks installed for ipb.

Upgraded to Portal 1.2.6 and its A GREAT ADDON TO US
All the modules on front page are fixed/organized.
It looks c00l to have a portal page

3.Added 16 new EXCITING skins to the board. Choose your way !!!
As we have many mods installed on the mod, many of those require changes to be done in each of the skin files, hence we only 3 Skins now

It´s easy atm, Invision Board is better.
current stable of vbulletin is 2.3.4 and ibp have much more features.

but you are forgetting that you cant comparis IBP 2 vs VB 2.3.4 coz IBP 2 is actually still in alpha fase! so if you compare IBP 1.1.3 vs VB 2.3.4 then VB is the winner.

vB3 RC4 is already very stable... Atleast ive never had any problems with it... And vB3 is so much better than both vB2 and invision board

There is a hack for it for vB2, and vB2 and 3 still need to support the MySQL 3 system

We compare stable versions of vb and invision without hacks!
also invision support mysql3, you can activate mysql4-fulltext-search manually, mysql3 is default settings

vB every time.

IPB has grown too bulky and complex, and I find it less user-friendly and marginally slower.

I upgraded recently from a heavily-hacked XMB 1.6 to a heavily-hacked vB 2.3.4. Once vB 3.0.0 goes gold, I'll be starting work on the hacks all over again ready for a future upgrade.

The main thing I've found, is that potential users take your forum MUCH more seriously with that vB copyright notice at the bottom. It adds so much more credibility to the site than anything else ever could.

if you have enough money take vB but invision is a good board not as much than vB but is free it's a good point
