I posted this at another forum. I know a lot of you are pretty technical.
I went to Frys today and bought a few things, Looked in the books section and found a list of books I want. They were over $40 for some of the books when I can get most of them for 90% less. Some of these books are so cheap that if I don't like them I can use them as paper weights. Are these books any good:
Network and Internetwork Security: Principles and Practice (William Stallings)
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=books
The Art of Deception (Kevin Mitnick)
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=books
Computer Security: Art and Science (Matt Bishop)
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=books
Implementing Intrusion Detection Systems (Tim Crothers)
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=books
Incident Response: Investigating Computer Crime (Chris Prosise, Kevin Mandia)
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=books
(I'm going to get this one, it was $45 at Frys and it is 2 inches thick.)
Network Security: A Hacker's Perspective (Ankit Fadia)
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=books
Access Denied: The Complete Guide to Protecting Your Business Online (Cathy Cronkhite, Jack McCullough)
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=books
Mission-Critical Security Planner: When Hackers Won't Take No for an Answer (Eric Greenberg)
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...lance&s=ebooks
Investigative Data Mining for Security and Criminal Detection (Jesus Mena)
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=books
So any good books? A few I might get because the prices are great. Of these books I looked at, what else do you suggest?
