Maybe the site haven't propergated yet...? I don't know too much about networking, so maybe I'm wrong?

what is there to propagate? The IP address supposedly didn't change. The DNS Servers already had the IP address. why does www and www2 resolve to different IP Addresses? should www really be resolving to 205.214.66.221 instead of 205.214.66.219 ?

The only problem I can see is that when going to the ADMINCP, it has to check your license info - this feature cannot be taken away - therefore the button idea is not such a good idea - heh

There could simply be a routine function for checking licences or one which simply sent data to vbwhich vb could then monitor on an exception basis. I am not convinnced that everytime the Admin CP is accessed license data needs to be checked - particularly as it seems to be able to be so easily bi-passed (see your quote above).

Perhaps the solution is some sort of time out - 3 seconds - if VB is not available of busy, then it stops searching... Dunno, but the current status is a long way from ideal...

Exactly, something which still addresses the concerns of software security and performance.... we'll see... I am sure the team at vb can come up with something.

Or IE browser....as I said in a post earlier in this thread, the browser you use makes a difference.

IE doesn't read the page properly so the page lags opening....

Whoever was fixing the server seems like a total amatuer. The source code of MANY files was clearly available for hours. Unbelievable. You guys really need to get a professional who can sort out redundacy for you.

How many licenses do you folks think they sell every week ?

Lets say they sold 100 leased licences every week - Thats $425,000 US a year TOTAL income. How far do you think that money goes ? You have to pay support staff right ? Buy development software, buy development workstations perhaps, pay lease on space, pay for servers and bandwidth for development and production. Not to mention, insurance, legal costs, advertising, TAXES....

Im sorry but I just dont see an additional $4000 or more just sitting around - for a just in case.

The delays in this case were caued by a contracted Hosts failure to respond in a timley manner - Jelsoft has said they are looking at fixing that problem.

Geesh .....

PS - here is a list of high profile outages from Billion dollar companies.
Every one of these companies has clustered servers and redundancy and Millions of dollars to throw at an issue.

Raz only one file should have been available and that was the index page.

The file was index.html but it had PHP code in it. At no point should any of the .php files been exposed. We since added .html and it should work as expected.
