  • Linksys Routers

Now, I know a few of you are diehard Linksys fans and blindly will buy it over any brand. Thus, I have a question.

Is it just me or have they removed all the advanced wireless settings and stateful packet inspection in their products after the Cisco purchase? I remember having a lot more options on my old one, like choosing diversity spread or not for example.

My friends bought a LinksysBEFW11S4 (I just nodded and smiled because they were strapped for cash and it was the cheapest Wireless B solution) after we decided that sharing the DSL was just a waste of time unless we went wired. Its flashed to the latest firmware off Linksys' site.

    Any takers?

I haven't noticed one differance in my router. This lastest one I bought last June when we had a snowstorm in June that made the power go out and it fried the router. THe previous one had the same options in it.

Not that I've noticed as I've only just got some of their kit, though I would expect Cisco to "re-align" their product offers so one didn't compete with the other. i.e. top end linksys vr bottom end cisco brand stuff.

      That would be my guess.
