Anyone else having trouble with Network Solutions ? I've been trying to update my records for several domains for over a week now, but cannot get ANY response out of them Any ideas folks ? My host says that they go 'down' like this occasionally and to keep trying, but my old hosting agreement runs out shortly and I /must/ update these records before then...

I had a problem with Network Solutions just one week ago...I needed to change the technical contact and couldn't but after several times it finally worked
    Keep trying!

      Fixed!

I finally got them to accept the changes - by ignoring that poxy web-based thingy and using an old style email template which I had hidden on my HD. Got confirmation from them within minutes!

        NetSol sux.

I avoid them like the plague. I had a domain I was trying to transfer for a friend for over 2 months before I finally got help from them.

Who do you use Martin, and how would you go about moving NS domains to them ?

            nameit.net

            I use Nameit.net.

It is very easy to modify records. All done on web pages, no email forms. And the data is updated immediately.

I ran a whois right after making a change, and there it was.

I figure there are others out there just as good. Anything is better than NetSol. As my customers domains come up for renewal, I transfer all of them over to NameIt. Makes my life much easier.

              Re: nameit.net

I use jumpdomain.com now for all the new domains.
Very easy to modify record, web based, fast (data updated in real time) and for only $15 a year.

                Domain Names

I have 250+ names with BulkRegister.com and they're pretty cool. They have web forms or email templates (like NetSol) and they have variable pricing from $15 a year down to something like $8 a year if you order 10,000 domains a month (ha!)

I also have names with 5 or 6 other registrars and I have to say that NetSol has been the most rock solid as far as support and reliability. I do hate waiting on hold for 3 hours when a problem comes up, though.

If you are with NetSol, make sure you have the right security level on your domains. Don't just use email address authorization, use password or pgp protection. You can read more about security at:
                http://www.networksolutions.com/help...ian.html#name2

I had someone fax NetSol and try to steal one of my domains, luckily they sent me an email and I was able to stop it before it got out of my control.

                  Re: Domain Names

Yes, I couldn't change domains. They sent me a form to send back and I did only to get an error message illegal 20. I figured out I needed to delete spaces at the end of each line. Help did not know this.

I had problems with Network Solutions too, ended up taking so long to move a domain we hadn't even started using - we forgot about it and registered a different one with www.domaindomain.co.uk

I think they're great, reg'd 15-16 domains with them, all of which I have been able to update and stuff (via email or telephone) within 2-3 working days.

Yea, same with Domain Monger. I have about 20 domains with them. I log into one account, I can see all of them, change the DNS instantly, and it's real nice.

Plus, they inetegrate zoneedit.com into it so I can have domains forward easily etc.

Oh I SO hate NetSol... they are so wrapped up in red tape it's insane...

I register and manage all my domains through www.000domains.com and have no complaints whatsoever - great service and rock-bottom prices.

I guess I was lucky...by the time I got around to registering domain names, NSI had competition. I have used directnic.com since the beginning, never had problems, always super-fast support. May not be the cheapest but I didn't know that then, and now I don't care because of the support.
