          vBulletin is not free. You need to purchase a license.

              See http://www.opensourcecms.com/ for some free bulletin board systems. phpBB and Invision Board are both good. vBulletin is better, IMHO, which is why I have a license.

                  Funny reading John's comment about installation being easy, well it was if your host had mySQL but of course hardly any host had mySQL in those days; I remember the nightmare of trying to get that working on a dedicated server for the first time!
