  • Bluetooth Mouse Battery Change

I have the Microsoft Bluetooth Desktop setup, which has a Bluetooth keyboard and Bluetooth mouse. I replaced the batteries on the mouse and you're supposed to be able to just press the button on the bottom of the mouse and then go into the software and have it re-pick up the signal. This is not working and I don't know why. I even tried uninstalling and re-installing the drivers. Does anybody know how to fix this? Thanks.

Thanks, but no that doesn't help. The keyboard works fine and there is no error that is given, the mouse just doesn't work, even after replacing the batteries (I received the warning that they were low, so I replaced them) and following the instructions for re-picking up the signal.

I got it fixed, I'm not sure what I did. I went into the Control Panel and then into the Wireless Link area and removed the mouse and re-installed it from there. I'm glad it's working now, thanks for the help.

I too am interested in BT keyboard and mouse. Almost picked one up a couple of weeks ago. I am gun-shy over delays and responsiveness that I have experienced in PREVIOUS wireless mice. VERY ANNOYING.

Do you have any such behaviour?

            Thanks!

After a certain amount of time the transceiver "turns itself off", so-to-speak. I assume that this is a battery and energy saving measure for when the keyboard and mouse are not in use. When you activate the keyboard and mouse again, it does take just a second for the transceiver to pick the signal back up, but beyond that that's the only delay that I've had. I love this thing, it's great. The only problem that I'm having right now is that it's mostly software based as opposed to hardware based, which means when the computer boots up, it doesn't recognize the keyboard and therefore I cannot boot into BIOS unless I hook up a hard-wired keyboard.

it looks ugly, IMHO. mine was $100, wireless mouse and keyboard. the mouse has a rechargable battery pack, and charger its cool.

I'm tempted to go buy it, i like the fact the number pad is seperate and can be used as a remote control. The one question I guess I have is, can i use the bluetooth mouse for my laptop without any adaptor since its got bluetooth built in?

Since it isn't the microsoft one, you might be able to...

I'd have to dig for that info.
