    "Trick or Treat"ers?

I think I'll install an air horn outside my front door and wait for them come.

When they're mid greeting, I'd let rip.

It would take perfect timing to achieve the desired effect.

    Something like:

    Trick or Tr... [HORRRRRRRRNK!!!]

    or

    Happy Hallow... [HORRRRRRRRNK!!!]

It could even be used for:

    Penny for the... [HORRRRRRRRNK!!!]

    and

We Wish You a Merry Chr... [HORRRRRRRRNK!!!]

No I don't. I love kids. In fact most of the people I know were kids at some point in their lives. I think tormenting them is a sign of a disturbed personality myself.

Nope, I don't hate them, since I was once a kid and did the same thing on Halloween.

I know Halloween is not very popular in UK, but it's a pretty big deal to kids here in the US, so may as well let them enjoy the day.

I don't mind as long as they don't do any damagage. It's normally the older kids that seem to go around egging people's houses and stuff. It's quite nice to give a few sweets to a young child who goes round with their parents. That's the kind of haloween spirit that I like

I couldn't agree more, it seems as if its just become another excuse for 'yobbish'
behavior and gives the event a bad name.

Yeah. You're right though, it is usually the older ones that do this. The whole egging, TPing, and sometimes even fireworks is just lame.

I love kids too....so no to your question. i find your idea a bit disturbing too.

Me? I like to put on Christmas music near the door (Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells! Deck the Halls with boughs of holly!...), put christmas lights around the door, dress up like an elf and hand out Candy Canes (I buy them end of Christmas the year before for very very cheap) and as those cute little kiddies come to the door, I tell them "Merry Christmas!"

They laugh, they grin, they call me "That Christmas lady!" (as in..."There's that Christmas lady again, Mom!"). Some of them try to educate me on the correct holiday it is.

Matters not since its giving treats to precious people who will one day be adults that will be running our country.

Gotta run go get out the candy canes and find my elf hat!

I think the number of trick or treaters you get on Halloween is directly proportional to the number of paedophile scare stories printed in the newspapers. So far I've had one knock at the door. Last year two groups of kids came knocking. Next year the tradition will probably be dead and buried... at least in my street. Sad really - I remember having loads of fun trick or treating at their age. My fondest memory is being chased off the porch by a bible basher who was convinced Halloween is the devil's work.

I meant to post back earlier but was having trouble getting to the site.

We passed out 5 bags of candy in 30 minutes and had to close the door and turn out the lights. We live in a neighborhood that other neighborhoods bring the kids in by the mini-van load and drop them at one end, picking them up on the other. Next year we will get more candy!

Cute kiddies, precious faces behind that makeup. Lots of princess ballerinas and army men.

These precious little people are our future.
