  • Buying vB Styles

Why is it so hard to find honest people who sell GOOD vB skins without bugs and who offer support? I can only think of two sites, one of which is almost perfect (vbskinz). I had bought a skin on insidethepixel.com and within a few days found out it didn't work with Mac computers. Myself and many others who have the same problems on insidethepixel have posted messages asking for help on their support site over and over only to have them deleted. They refuse to fix what never worked right to begin with, even when it was used on wiredgamers.com. I thought insidethepixel was going to be differant, I was wrong.

Are we asking to much here for $25-50 when we ask for some support from these people?

How did you pay? Try and get a refund. Even though $25-50 is not a huge amount of money (well, it is to some people including myself) when it comes to products, you paid for a working product. And you should get what you paid for!

Well I believe the cost was $40 and I paid on my Visa Check Card so I can't contest the charge. From now on, I will always buy online with a credit card.

As long as it is a true Visa, be it debit or credit, you should still be able to contact Visa regarding the sale. Visa provides the card and I would think they would have a record of the sale.

I have reversed charges on my PayPal debit card, which is basically the same thing check/debit/savings/ect. If you don't want to contact Visa, contact your bank.

I don't approve of chargebacks for no reason or without doing your very best to make contact, though if that is the only way, then it is the only way.

Thanks Saintdog. You are the second person that I was reffering to in who I have had no problems with in getting support for my skins. I think I'm just going to put some pressure on these guys by posting messages just like this one on various boards. I posted one like this on yaxay a few minutes ago. It's sad paying $40 for somthing that I can't use becase it's browser specific.

hmmm, I don't think venting in other forums is such a great idea, especially if it's not the forum's business... then again, that's just me...

Possibly not but it seems to have worked with Corey and vbskins.

Thanks, I do my best, but I most of my verification is done by hand as I prefer it that way, less room for error heh .

I am in no way saying to issue a chargeback on the purchase, but to make sure you do all that you can to see that you get a functional and working product before you proceeed to reverse the charge.

I would also not vent on other forums, while it may have worked for one account, it may not work for another and may get you banned and shunned upon, when you need the create to prove you are not just a customer wanting a refund for no reason .

I think it's a good way of letting others know about potentially poor customer service from people who users here may work with...

I beg to differ, i am at the moment saving up my hard earned cash to pay for a custom skin and welcome any and all threads of this nature be it praise or criticism then i have a better chance of going somewhere reliable for it...

it is basicaly how business works you do a good job people talk at various places praising them, likewise if they dont do such a good job or have very bad customer service that gets reported also. its called word of mouth and if you ask any businessman worth his salt he will tell you it is invaluable.

so therefore you have a more informed choice dont you, rather than taking on blind faith that what the company says it will do will infact be what it does........

You should be able to do a chargeback if you call visa, paypal and online credit cards can be refunded quite easily, but seeing as they did provide you with the product, it's more of a case of buyer beware (unless they specifically gauruntee it to work in all browsers)...

Yeah, and I noticed topics about it have repeatedly been closed time and again, now why is that?

As I said, that's just me ... if there is ever a forum that you should be posting this to, it should be WHT, since it was the discussions in that forum that pressured corey and co, not vbulletin.com...

I'm just saying that you shouldn't be posting the same message in as many forums as you can find ... that's marginally spamming ... peace.

They were always closed because they got out of hand which this thread hasn't. Everyone in this thread was just suggesting ideas, something the other threads didn't.

I can't fix the mac issue without knowing what is wrong with it.. and so far no one has posted a screenshot of the problem. Im sorry but I don't own a mac so I cant do this myself... I have asked time and time again for someone to post a screenshot.
