If I don't put the included stuff on the main index header, no one ever looks at it. A Super Mod didn't even know who the Member of the Month is, and it was announced weeks ago.

Tomorrow's status update that I'm posting sometime sunday will be a must see. I'll post a link here whenever I post it.

I would have to agree that the top section is absurdly overloaded ... why people like to put all that information at the very top is beyond me ... all that fluff should be at the bottom, or at least create a left column and put all that vanity stuff there ... I for one don't like having to scroll down to actually see your "forums"

Sure they do because the Welcome panel has the required info. You should move the shoutbox, games, and radio to the bottom. The member of the month this isnt required, it could be on a left or right column instead.

Yeah, there's way too much stuff at the top. It was hard to tell that it was even a forum when I first loaded the page.

Oh, and I think that the chances of someone reading that are pretty much the same whether it's at the top or at the bottom. It looks like so much clutter that I just sort of skipped over it.

It's true. And it will hurt your search engine rankings, since spiders put more weight on keywords at the top of the page than at the bottom. You want your forum titles spidered, not the statistics.
