I have a question for you guys that can cook now, what was your 'cooking status' when you were 15/16?

I had a crok pot, or how ever you spell that. You just put in some meat and veggies and turn it on and leave it for a few hours. Very very simple.

I was out of the house when I was 16, so cooking became a very big part of my life very fast.

I would almost every night if I had a kitchen in my dorm.

That would definitely be a good idea: Tutorials For Beginners; How To Cook Without A Lot Of Hassle.

It may be a much simpler dinner than smoked salmon and what not, but most of us don't really care for fancy food. I'm incredibly happy if I can make some dinner that's healthy (ie. not fastfood or so; something varied) and doesn't take a whole lot to create.

I usually make chicken and rice, with a big salad and sometimes dessert. If not rice or chicken, it's potatoes, or fish, or spaghetti-like food. All not very varied, and I'd like to know about some fairly simple dishes.

OK. Here is a very very simple, healthy, and great tasting meal! And you thought this would be hard.

Wow, that very much makes me want to take out the barbeque and cook some salmon.

I probably will be trying this at my next family get-together.
                  :)
