  • Need IRC bot, any recommendations??

    I need an IRC bot, main purpose is administration for Private IRC server, setting +o and +v etc, preferrably not an eggdrop..

    for Redhat linux 7.x

    //Thanks for any recommendations//

    Why not an eggdrop? A properly setup eggdrop beats the pants off most others, mainly because eggdrops are so mature?

    (I use an eggdrop to manage 14 channels at the moment, works wonders, but it does trivial stuff, ChanServ manages most stuff )

    edit: Ah, i re-read your post. Your after services to manage many channels on a ircSERVER? not a channel?

    Id recomend undernet-ircd and srvx.

    http://coder-com.undernet.org and http://www.srvx.net - Make sure you get the latest RC of srvx 1.2.

      I think you just need "Services", e.g NickServ, ChanServ..etc? I think UnrealIRCD includes them, not sure though.

        Yeah does depend on what IRC daemon your running already. It's personal choice over project maturity vs functionality vs IRC scope. Unreal beta or Ultimate 3.x stable and Anope IRC services (used to be Epona, mySQL integration 1/3 finished) is a recommended configuration.

            no i just need a simple bot to Op certain users on one channel on my private IRC server, there is only 1-5 channels on it.

            like a simple administrative bot..

              Then you are best using Eggdrop, if you won't use one then you are gonna have to get something else you can find on google working, which will probably be more work that an eggie.
