  • Feedback/advice Please!

Hi everyone i am doing AS exams but just having a break. Planning on working on my site all next week because my exams are finishing on thurs. Wondering if you could review my site and give me some feedback regarding a few things. Just really the colour and layout, dont take too much notice of the content or links as i need to adjust them.

    The address is www.cubeix.com/about

Also i am hopeing to sell templates multiple times, do logo design, forum skins, winamp skins and hosting etc, flash websites, posters etc. What name do you think is suitable and also sounds good:
    Cubeix
    Cubeix Studios
    Cubeix Multimedia Studios
    Cubeix Design
    Cubeix Media

Thanks for any feedback good or bad!

It looks pretty nice. A few small things:

You need "alt" attributes on those images.
Put some text on the front page so people know what the site is about; give them a reason to "Enter."

Overall, it looks nice. But I don't really get much of a feel for what the site actually is. Also, I am worried that for dial-up users the site may be slow loading -- you might want to cut back on the images a bit.

        Looks very nice and professional!

dotcomguy01 - can u explain your post a bit more please?

Lacrosse Boy - i am using a 56k connection at the moment and it loads fine for me . I understand what you mean though! I could reduce the quality slightly.

Thanx for the feedback - keep it coming!

you need to consider alt and title tags for images, this allows users who dont enable images to still be able to browse the site.

You can see if you mouse over all the images on the forums here.

in the image tag just add the attribute "alt" with the text on the button or something. For example, if the button says "home" you would do something like this:

                <img src="home.gif" alt="home">

Looks to me like there's a bit too much inspiration from http://www.macfora.com/forums/index.php
                    :)

Link "titles" and image "alt attributes" are two different things. The latter is most important. You should have alternative text for images that are and are not links.

Also, regarding my comment on the front page. Perhaps it's not complete yet, but I looked at it anyway. Right now it gives no information about what the site is about, just a big graphic and an ad for vBulletin. You "need" text on the front page; be very cautious with splash pages.

Thats was one source of inspiration. I like the colours and smoothness and portrayed that in the design. It is only a draft and still room for change. Now regarding the name:

What name do you think is suitable and also sounds good:
                          Cubeix
                          Cubeix Studios
                          Cubeix Multimedia Studios
                          Cubeix Design
                          Cubeix Media

                          Thanks
