  • Compressing CGI-Perl Pages

    Hi,

I'm very familiar with PHP, and know that it is simple to gzip the output so that it is much smaller and bandwidth usage is very low. However, I recently installed a perl script which is heavily text-based and was wondering if the same thing exists for perl.

    Thanks.

Is there any other way, similar to ob_gzhandler? I believe the server I'm on has mod_gzip installed but the bandwidth tracking sees the bandwidth as if it weren't installed...

not much of help, but stick with php scripts .. perl, well, its just outdated and becoming extinct, plus php is faster than perl, so you will benefit in the run.

I know PHP is better, but the specific type of script I needed was only available in perl. There's PHP versions, but the best one by far is in perl.
