  • Is there a way I can have some sort of alarm on my PC?

I need to wake myself up, and I'm leaving my computer on overnight. Is there some program that will start playing music from winamp or something at a given time?

        Set a cron job

Or, it's equivalent. On 2K and newer, go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Scheduled Tasks. Add a task for Winamp when you want to wake up.

You could use MusicMatch's alarm function and play MP3s, vids, whatever

It's also worthwhile to check if your BIOS has the capability of starting up at a pre-defined time -- I recently found out my Toshiba BIOS (laptop) can do this, and I've since been using it for all types of little tasks.

Anyway, for Windoze use scheduler and pass the cli mp3 to winamp or cron, but yes there are a few ways
