  • [Help Wanted] Install RedHat 8.0...

If this is the incorrect forum, mods will you please move it to the correct one.

Ok now for my request. I need someone to install RedHat 8.0, along with the newest stable version of Apache, PHP, MySQL, along with vBulletin (Yes, I own a license). All must work and be ready for me to tweak and hack the settings. I will supply a HD for all this to be installed on, along with CD's for RH 8.0 and a copy of vBulletin(unless the developers here say I can not do so - in that case, a quick "how-to install vbulletin on that hd" will work for me). Either way I REALLY need RH8.0 apache, php, and MySQL installed on this drive.

In turn I will send you a new Maxtor 40GB IDE 7,200RPM, along with (2) 256MB PC-2700 DDR RAM. I will pay for shipping there and back to me. I need this within a week.

I will be using this drive STRICTLY as a local test machine - so tighting down on security holes and so on is not needed, since it wont be on the net. If interested please PM, AIM, or email me at: [email protected]

    Thanks,

    -Michael

You have the computer you want to do this on in your physical space?

Insert Disc 1 of Redhat 8.0 into your CD drive and reboot. It will walk you through the installation in a graphical mode and automatically setup everything you desire including MySQL, Apache and PHP.

It takes about 30 minutes to do it.

If that's the case then you might want to install the recently released RH9.

Red Hat 9.0 is out already? I just downloaded RH8 not that long ago. Is it a stable version or beta?

Well, that depends on the way you look at Redhat releases.

The publicly downloadable releases are considered stable but they are also testbeds for Advanced Server which Redhat only sales and doesn't make available for download.

I think so... Haven't downloaded it to try it out yet. Just installed Redhat 8.0 about 3 months ago for the first time.
