  • April Fools! Need ideas...

What are you going to do to your community on April fools day? Anyone have a good game plan they want to share?

I figure I was gonna make a psychadelic color scheme and name it the same as the current scheme but put it at the bottom of the list, then switch everyone's preference to it and suddenly leave, with them all confused as to what's going on.

Note that I didn't reinstall that hack after the past upgrade so that thread shows {bbusername} now instead of the reader's name. It was a classic though! I got a lot of people with that one.

There is a little hack which sadly I don't have on me.
It subtracts '1' from the thread number when replying.
You get some interesting conversations with that one.

I never do anything for April Fools Day... However this year at SitePoint it won't matter anymore.

If you are a member there, you should find out next week... If not, I am sure it will filter through this community as well.

I think it was done with a query by adding '1' to the thread number of all posts made between two dates. I Can't remember how it handled the first post in a thread but, yeah, it was sorted out after.

                          *Edit*

It had to have been more complicated than that.
Simply adding '1' couldn't have sorted it out by its self.
Whatever it did, it was effective.
Just wish I could find it again.
