Porn Spammer hit my forum

That same guy hit my forums. My guess is it is a bot, though i dont know how they got around my IP bans, i even banned them via .htaccess and they still got through...

my forum got hit today, luckily I caught his first post while he was working on the 2ncd one, here is the info for anyone that wants to add it to their block banned list:

It doesn't work like that, someone won't create a bot just to target 1 board.

They'll target 100s of boards.

They're not bothered whether a board is large and/or popular, they just want as much publicity for their site as possible.

It isn't a compliment when you set a board up to for example a PG-13 audience and a porn bot posts, it can ruin all your work because some member's parents can be very protective and you can say goodbye to members.

So let's say a hacker decides to hack your board, delete your database, and put up a redirect to a porn site with multiple popups that respawn infinitely.

you can still cause harm without bringing a site down. Once people get an opinion of a site it is very difficult to change that opinion.
