How Do You Pronounce "Unix"?

From what I understand Linux is *supposed* to be Li-nix (Little)... but Lie-nix just sounds a heck of a lot better to me, so I say it that way.

Linux is supposed to be "Lee-nux", that is how its creator, Linus Torvalds, pronounces it. Curiously enough though, nobody else pronounces it that way. I pronounce it "lih-nux".

And I pronounce Unix "You-nicks"

Here in Israel we say MySQL since we're pretty much used to these acronyms, but I watched a show on TV once and everyone there say "My-Sequel". Don't know if that's how it was meant to be, if you ask me they made a word out of SQL so it's easier to pronounce.

I call it S-Q-L too, though I have heard ppl use "sequel" or even "sqill".

As for Postgresql, I say it "Post-gres-Que-EL". Kinda hard to type it out, but pretty much out its spelled.

SQL is sometimes pronounced Sequel as its original name was SEQL (Structured English Query Language). The E got dropped later on.

As for PostgreSQL... I just say "Postgres".
