  • New Dedicated Server.. need some fun stuff for my users

My site is mainly a vb site, but now that I have lots of room on my own dedicated, I'd like to add some fun things/interesting features/etc. for my members (without hacking up vb). Do any of you have ideas?? Here's my site if you want to take a look:

    http://www.thereeftank.com

    Thanks-
    Brooke

Check web mail from FireFly : http://www.hivemail.com/ it is cool and hopefully eventually gets integrated with vbulletin

and check JamesUS/Tubedogg's SideLinks : http://www.sidelinks.com/ and it will also get some vB integration.

and check PhotoPost Pro PHP : http://www.photopost.com/ if I am correct (otherwise google it) - it also has vBulletin integration.

You could also check out some content management system stuff like vBportal or vBhome or something else, to have a portal to your site.

Together you will have a nice package running

I would purchase it, but to my understanding it requires an smtp server, (vb can do without one?) .. so currently its not of any use to me.

You could always host my sites images j/k

On a serious note, you might want to look into using some scripts.

SideLinks seems very good, but a similar but more lite system I released at vBulletin.org does practically the same, allows you to manage links, categories and such, but can't be used in different ways like SideLinks, the production on v3 is going good, it will function similar to SideLinks, but run off vB and again it will be free, if you are looking for a system like SideLinks now then I guess SideLink is a good option, but the pricing for it is a bit too expensive, v3 of my Links Script will be released at vB.org for free, and it is by default integrated into vB, so if you are thinking, just take some time to check up on its progress. There is a v2.0 released already with basic features.

Anyways, VerChat is a very nice co-brandable Chat System, and also an IM software called Integrity Messenger, there was some discussion about it before, but it seems to be able to be co-branded into vBulleting (not by default)

Joe, I will be reselling some space on my server. It would take me years to use up all that room. LMK if you are serious.
What kind of scripts are you talking about, BTW??

Photopro is definately a possiblity. Other sites similar to mine already have it, so its probably something I should add. Sure wish it didn't cost so much.

Thanks for the skins page..cool stuff.

                      keep these ideas coming!!
