  • elance?

Has anyone used elance as a buyer? I just posted my first project, and have recived quite a few bids. What questions should i ask for the best response? Any tips before i choose a winner?

    Thanks!

I've used it before, but I would highly recommend RentACoder, I got much more responses there and the bids were much more realistic.

I used to bid for jobs on elance. I would always bid on jobs where they pulled the project without selecting anyone. I stopped using elance and spent my money on advertising (I think I was paying like $250/month for a gold account are something .. ) and it worked out better. Also, most people that post jobs don't pick you if you don't have a lot of feedback and since I was new to elance I didn't have much, only feedback from non-elance jobs.

Thanks guys, i currently have 22 bids on elance, I started the project just 13hrs ago!

My project is for some ASP script customizing, as well as site design. A good portion of the bids are from India, do i need to worry at all using an off-shore company for this? They all have very positive feedback, and the prices are more then reasonable.

Ok, i have narrowed it down to 3 choices, all have amazing profiles, and prices are just about too good to be true. I was planing on a $1000+ budget. Bid's with amazing tallent are coming in from $250 - $500.

If you guys are interested, i'll keep you updated on how everything turns out.
