  • Question for the BB Gurus

I am trying to sneak VBulletin into the Epinions database so that we can review it. However, to slide it in, I am going to need to add in other BB software packages. I am interested in commercial package brands that are real players in the market - not free boards at this time.

    Thus far, my list has:
    Vbulletin
    Infopop
    WebCrossing

Who else is a player in the market? I am looking for software packages, not hosted solutions. High End boards and moderately priced boards that hobbyists can afford are both acceptable.

    Thanks,
    Amy

ps Once I get VBulletin listed, I will let you all know so that you can review it if you would like.

What's Epinions? How do you add something to the database?

Epinions is a consumer product review site. I can add stuff to the database because I am one of the current computer Category Leaders. Currently, there are no bulletin boards listed. If I want to add one, I need to put a few other options in there.

Strange, I can think of Infopop and vBulletin instantly, but my mind then goes blank and I can only think of free forum software

These are the only ones that I know of, that actually cost.

The rest, like phpBB, IkonBoard, InvisionBoard, MercuryBoard, yaBB, etc, are all free, so I think you've got all the major ones.

There's also stuff like Snitz and Jive Forums for ASP and JSP, respectively.

I don't mind using Fusetalk as a user but I can't really stand anything else besides vBulletin.

Isn't there also sth called Gossaamer Threads? Maybe it's just the company but I think they also have a forum you can buy.
