    do you see a difference?

Could someone please tell me if there is a difference between these two images:

the "new" one is 48,796 bytes ...... the "old" one is 228,930 bytes. My friend seems to think it has lost it's quality completely. Don't even know why i'm going to this much trouble trying to reason with him, but I guess I just feel sorry for the visitors who have to load over 500k worth of images on the main page, including this one. Also want to see if maybe i'm the one who is going nuts :/

The only difference Isee is the URLs of the images.

It hasn't lost much quality I am guessing, you could always go into photoshop and check it out

Looks the same from a naked eye with out concentrating.

The new one seems to be of inferior quality. You can see some fuzziness.

Yes, there's a slight difference but not enough to justify the extra bandwidth.

Just, just slightly less quality in the new one. Not noticeable unless you really stare at them for a while. I'd definetly use the new one.

slight fuzzyness on the text of the new one (1600x1200, 32bpp, 85Hz)

You should have labeled them opposite of what they really were to see if people are really seeing a difference.

                  ^^ Exactly

Everyone else who posted in this thread just wish to look cool
                  hehe.

I have a very big resolution as well so I can't really see much difference, unless I really zoom in.

Personally the only difference I see between the two pictures is the loading time... they both look the same to me *shrug*

heheh, wouldn't work. Cause it's easy to tell which is the larger image. The optimized one loads in about 1-2 seconds for me, while the old one takes 4-5 seconds... or you could just use properties. However, I was thinking of taking a good quality screenshot and posting them side-by-side and then seeing if anyone noticed a difference

Either way, nice work on them.
