I planned to sell ads myself, so httpads are not useful to me for the time being.

HTTP ads would be usefull to fill the unused inventory quickly and simply with smaller companies just dipping into the credit card with whatever they want to spend that month.

As for $0.15 CPM... if you are selling yours manually for less than that, and you suggest your site is not that big, then you are surely wasting a lot of time for what is a tiny return!
Well, I highly doubt anyone gets more than $0.15 CPM on forum pages, unless the site is highly targeted (IE: Advertising a web host on WebHostingTalk.com or advertising a webmaster related site on SitePointForums.com), otherwise, it's not easy to get more than $0.15 CPM, especially for me, since my forums are basically fan forums for games and besides links to the games on amazon thru their affiliate program, there isn't alot of targeted banners I can sell. I mean, after all, it's not like clans are going to have any money to spend and I wouldn't advertise other fan sites / competitors on my site. So mostly, i'm stuck selling all my banners dirt cheap to completely unrelated sites. Currently I sell them for $0.08 CPM for the bottom 468x68 banner (footer of my page) and $0.15 CPM for the top one, which generates me almost $100 US a month combined, which is more then enough to pay the hosting bills for me! Of course, I do have a minimum $20 purchase It's not like I send out invoices for $0.08 !

httpads is, in my opinion, a rip-off. I believe they charge $0.15 per 1000 impressions, so if you plan to sell impressions for less than $0.15, well, you'll end up loosing money. On top of that, they also charge a percentage. Personally, I don't like automated banners, I like to view banners before they go on my site and work personally with my advertisers. However, I suppose if you were a big site httpads would probably be useful.

Why is that? Will the HTTP ads solution not work for them? It seems simple enough.

Hmm... the problem is that I have to host my banner manager in their server. Not good.

  • Banner ads management with credit card payment intergrated

I would like to know if there is a banner management software which incorporate a credit card payment? Meaning the potential clients and top up the money in their account either PPC or buys a certain amount of impressions.

    Thanks in advanced.
