Perhaps they will also need all the threads they have posted in, with their posts highlighted?
You would think there *might* be legal issues there. Can you be forced to provide what other people have said to explain the context of the person who is being sued? Must be some privacy issues there arn't there?

If they aren't private forums then surely they are publically accessible anyway. So theres no issue?

Even if it's private, this is a court order, so it's okay. You or the person can do nothing.

Yup, if you get a court asking you to do something, you pretty much need to do it, unless you want to end up in court yourself. In this case, i'd just give them the posts and be done with it. It's all public information anyways and just think of the poor attorney who will have to read 2000+ posts

Yep. Someone asked why not include the threads, too -- well, that's part of the reason.

The court didn't ask to have the whole threads, so there would be privacy issues with sending them. Unless they explicitly ask forall threads the person has posted in then you should not send the threads, only posts.

They would need to subpoena those posts as well.

Subpoenas and warrants are ultra-specific. If you have drugs in a box, inside a dresser drawer, a warrant would be issued for the box itself. If the warrant was for the dresser drawer, anything found inside the box could not be used per illegal search and seizure.

Paul warants are typically not that granular. The police and courts do not know it is in a box in a dresser. If it was a residence then one would be issued with authorization to search the entire premesis.

I would do exactly what the document says, no more, no less.
