What if one of your users confessed that he is a pedophile???

I was reading LeeCHeSSS's post and I decided to ask you this question. One of my users admitted that he is a pedophile. Some other users even accused him of posting nude kids. I searched all of his posts and didn't find any pics. So, the question I am facing right now is following... Do you think that he made a confession that is admissible in court or no? After all, he could be saying that just to piss everyone off.

In many states in the USA, you would be considered a manditory reporter... meaning that, if you have any reason to think that someone may have abused a child, then you are required by state law to report it to the authorities. Please visit this link for more information...

I understand you're in Toronto, but maybe Canada has similar laws to protect children. Please make some calls. If the first contact you call says that they can't help you, then please call someone else. Don't be quickly put off from taking action. Many people might not know what you can do, so they will assume you can't do anything, and they'll say that with a "voice of authority".

Don't remove it from YOUR forum... instead, move that particular post to a forum which only you can access. AGAIN, please disable that user's ability to delete or edit his own posts.

I'm not really sure if it's a child porn or not. It could be a family photo of his sister and brother having a bath. It's not really clear to me.

Strike, contact the authorities in the state in which that user lives. Tell them everything you can. It's their job to analyze the evidence... not yours.

If you need help in "how" to track someone down through his ISP, I think it's okay to ask for general instructions. You don't have to post his actual IP and email address, in order to get instructions.

I would help you with this... but I don't know the answer.
