Hi,
i use Totalsearch - so I only have to enter "gg vbulletin" in IE's URL-bar to search google.com for vbulletin. lots of other searchengines can be used the same way (her is the list http://hartlich.com/suche_total/unte...e_suchdienste/)
One of my users did the same now for vbulletin - so you can offer this quick search to your users as well - all they have to do is add a couple of lines to their win-registry just by clicking on a .reg-file...
This is set up to search my forums by entering "ibc searchterm"- just change "ibc" to a abbreviation of your site (e.g. "vb") and change the url inside the reg-file - thats it!
Next Time you enter "vb release date" in your browser it will search vbulletin.com or any forum you configure for "release date"
