      'Fraid so. I had to switch when I joined. Must say that I like the Sony a lot but Windows ... well, no sense in repeating what every Maccer knows!

        i am one of those people that would refuse to use a pc at work just to spite the IT people. i can make anything work on a mac. sometimes it requires windows emulation, usually not.

                Jake: Also 802.11a and 802.11g, CF reader, one of those Toshiba PCMCIA hard drives...not everything can be done externally and what's more external devices (especially FireWire because still relatively few people have it) are usually more expensive.

                  I recently got rid of my Dell Inspiron 8100 and replaced it with a Sony Vaio SRX41P. Bluetooth, wireless LAN built in, and an absolutely miniscule footprint weighing only 1.26KG. I love it to bits.

                              I'm sure external USB PCMCIA drives are available quite cheaply now, refering to earlier posts
