Have you done any research into which make/model of firewire drive to get? I am looking at getting one, the privso being that it can run from the computers power supply. Quite keen on getting one of these ... especially if they can daisy chain together like i hear they can.

I'm trying for one too. Now, if only a few more people want me to design their websites...

Well the laptop came in today. I must say, I'm very impressed! It's the best computer I have by far. My other PC is an athlon 800mhz but this laptop blows the socks off. I'll be doing a lot of my designs on this.

Any word on that firewire harddrive? I would be interested in getting more information.

Also, does anyone have any suggestions for a good digital camera? I want a Sony for sure .. any advice?

Get the ones that burn directly to CD-RW. Sony memory sticks are rip offs.

memory sticks are not considerably more than other flash media these days. 128MB for $60 ...

If you want portable go for the DSC-Px range, if you want better zoom there is the other cybershot range with the 6x optical zoom and care zeiss lens. Check out www.dpreview.com

www.apple.com/store -After owning this powerbook for a little over 3 months I must say, all of my computers (yes all three PC's) will soon be in the garbage can. OS X + this sexy, sleek, and slim laptop is all I want in my life.

Nafae, you can ship your "garbage" to me. I fix up old PC's for kids who live in low income areas.

my little laptop arrived yesterday, and it is amazing It is really small, taking it around with me is going to be so easy. It is only slightly larger than A5 paper (half the size of legal paper for those who don't use Ax measurements).

I have just networked it with my main computer which worked fine but getting it to share the internet seems a bit harder. It is sort of using the internet but just amazingly, amazingly slow. I managed to get it to load the microsoft.com home page, and also the first bit (the redirect link) of www.ascifi.com but that is about all. Really can't understand what is going on there, it clearly can get through but why so slow? The main computer is on ADSL and was loading pages in seconds.

I don't do much traveling, so the wider screen is great for me when it's on my desk. I can see why most folks choose the ibook though, it is mucho smaller =)

At least they are both real laptops muahaha </apple death cult mode>

Susan: I would love to donate some of them to such a cause, but my two main ones will probably be sold just because I spent over 4k on them both combined. And I need a small ammount to save for a powah towah.

                              With a lens cleaner.
