Sub, Hoagie, or Grinder??

Everywhere I go, people call them different things. What do you call them in your region??

I've never heard grinder either... Doesn't sound too appetizing either.

They are sandwiches here, unless you go to subway, then they are subs.

In the Uk, well in yorkshire anyway, we call sandwiches... get ready for it, sarny or sarnies

yup, etones is right. I still kick my mum every time she calls it a sarny (j/k) !!!

now they are moving to being called baguettes though. That is what we call them in oxford.

We have Subs Hoagies and Grinders here....sandwiches are what you make at home on wonder bread. Southern Indiana is a strange place.

Hero's what called them that? we have a sandwich shop called hero's where i am at uni.....

You'll find Grinders at an Italian sub shop... aka Mancinos, etc -- I forgot how they got their name.
