    Good picture gallery script?

    Can anyone recommend a good/free picture gallery script?

    I want to be able to host user submitted pictures on the site and have them thumbnailed for easy viewing? Users can then click on the picture for a full view/descriptions etc.

    Would like to somehow incorporate their VB username/password into allowing them to submit pictures.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks in advance

    Photopost is a good solution. It's integratable in vBulletin, phpBB and vbPortal.

        I second the recommendation for "gallery"

        Of all the ones mentioned here, it has a few advantages.

        * Very easy to install
        * Feature Packed
        * And it's open source, so you can use it for FREE

        You'll kick yourself if you don't check it out first...

          Gallery!

          I'll third the recomendation for Gallery! It's a superb script with the richest feature set you can get in a free photo gallery! Photopost is another excellent, albeit pricey alternative.

              I'm looking for one that links with the vbulletin member database, template driven, simple front-end, and overall efficiency. Photopost is nice, but it's very complex for the end user, and it contains many needless (and non-professional) features and lacks the highend features of Gallery and ImageFolio. I really do not want to build a community around the gallery. PHP would also be nice.

                  Animaniac1217: We specifically designed PhotoPost to knock over ImageFolio - what "high end" features are you referring to when you say that Gallery and ImageFolio have them and PhotoPost doesn't? I'd like to know because as far as I know (and I created PhotoPost), PhotoPost can do everything that ImageFolio does except for the lightbox mod, and PhotoPost has a TON more features (MySQL, user registration/database, etc, just to name a couple).

                    Yeah.

                    although the mod I use is nowhere near as powerful as any stand alone software, it will do until I can afford both the time and finances to buy a real gallery program like the ones mentioned here.

                        I use Coppermine myself. I've customized mine a bit (mainly new graphics and some CSS changes), and I'm quite happy with it. Also check out Exhibit Engine which looks very good. I've got it on my localhost but I have to play around with it more.

                              i own a photopost licence since last year.

                              Photopost PHP release is a great work,
                              I choosed it for the VB integration.

                              It is a professional choice.

                              I tried many free software gallery, and
                              I currently do not see anything like photopost.

                              if you choose a free script, consider the work
                              you'll have to do to integrate it to VB for
                              a script that can disappear next month...
