I'm planning to format my computer, installing XP and stay with it till the next "windows" is out.
I currently have a lot of mass in the programs directory, and I don't really know which softwares to install after I'll install my XP.

You have no firewall software because you are not paranoid, yet you have AntiVirus software. Personally, I'd be more concerned of a virus than a person hacking my machine, but thats just me.
