  • Links script?

I'm trying to find a good links/indexing/portal script. Worked my way through a lot of links via hotscripts.com, and not much luck.

ssLinks looked good, but it's giving me nothing but sql errors. I managed to get two urls added to one category. Could not add an url to other categories, no matter what I tried. Also using the back-button in my browser wouldn't get me the previous page, but another sql error. Completely unworkable

I also tried phplinks, or something with a name like that, and didn't like it.

Anyone have suggestions? Support for categories is a must.

in-link , http://ww.in-link.net , is extremely good, well documented / feature packed with lots of detailed options (and good support as well).

Links SQL would also be a fine choice.

In the meantime, Indexu ( http://www.indexu.com ) is bad, buggy and almost non-existance support.

I read about the bugs and the lack of support for indexu, which is a big bummer. It's a shame to let a product which such potential go to waste like that

Links SQL is way outer wallet space

In-link is also too expensive. I'm not necessarily looking for free scripts, but the site we're running doesn't generate any income at all.

        I know.
Links SQL is way to expensive.
IndexU was $99, very cheap compared to Links (or SQL) and In-link series.
So, I first tried indexU ( like 7 months ago). I have been experiencing problem (due to bugs) since then. And a few days ago, I finally decided to purchase in-link. At this moment, free ones wouldn't satisfy me.
My site also does not make any income but when you want to make a site with lesser buggy script, you get what you pay for. It's not like you are paying again for the script. It's only one-time fee. In-Link was worth it. It's so much better than indexU.

                  PHP LINKs
That's the one I tried as well. Took me some hours to reprogram it to change the layout
The admin options are very unfinished and sometimes fail. And what's with those stupid flags?! (Is this comment coming from the dude who created the original vB Flag Hack 0.something? Yes it is...)

Would you mind sending me a mail...
I'll take any chance to send mail with both hands. Have did so

Maybe it's something in my php configuration then. Your setup looks very good. A suggestion: I would change the linklist_item.tmpl template. The standard view looks a bit crowded.

I am also looking for an linkscript. I do not need so many feature (categories, search, submit new links). At teh moment i am trying to use phplinks, but the css is horrible and i am deleting some of the features, f.e. registration before submitting a new link.

It looks interesting, but the demo has a couple of errors in it and the admin cp doesn't work... I will check back later.

I have seen it, but 115$? Hmm, thats a lot of money for a site with only some money.

And the demo forum gives me an error:

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/linktype/public_html/demo/functions.php on line 244

Yes I'm experiencing some server problems at the moment. Some of the problems should now be fixed - though if you could tell me which page exactly you're receiving that error on it would be really good, as the demo seems to be working okay now?
Anyone who wants one can send me an email with a bit more information about what you want and we'll see if we can come to an agreement

                              URL : http://www.linktype.com/demo/submitsite.php

                              The error is
                              Code:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: error_accessdenied() in /home/linktype/public_html/demo/submitsite.php on line 9

                              URL : http://www.linktype.com/demo/search.php?action=newsites

                              Code:
There has been a database error. An email has been sent to our Tech Staff, who will deal with the problem as soon as possible. Please try again in a few minutes. We apologise for any inconvenience caused
A suggestion : Add a text saying there is no match for search when search returns no result.

                              Suggestion 2 : The nav home<<cat1<<cat2 , insert some spaces .
                              like home << Cat1 << Cat2

Suggestion 3 : Add membership feature , so members can modify their links. Also add image (aligned in admin panel) function in front of links or somewhere in the list_link template.
