  • How do I report a forum for bullying and porn?

I need to report a vBulletin forum for having explicit content with no age control and don't know which series of vBulletin it is or how to complain . Any advice great received.

vBulletin the company won't do anything since they don't have control of the site in question. It's not against the license to host adult/graphic content. You can complain to the host of the website or if you think it's illegal, report it to the proper authority in whichever country it is hosted.

Not to burst your bubble, but there's tons of other adult/graphic content available without age controls that's not hosted on vBulletin software.

So, unless the content is against the law or the rules of the hosting provider, then there may not be much you can really do about it.

Thanks for the info, but how do I find out who the proper authority is in England? This is an animal forum which very explicit content which anyone can see and there are members who are stalking and bullying other members.

I'm not an English citizen, so I have no idea about their specific laws. There are probably UK members floating around that could tell you something more specific.

You can probably start here though: https://www.iwf.org.uk/report

As for bullying, it would be a civil matter, nothing criminal unless there's documented evidence of harm being done to an individual.

so animal porn is fine as long as there is no bullying (or 'bothering' as it's known as to sheep) ?!

Last time I checked, porn and trolling weren't illegal. What is the site url in question?

Do not post the site. If you suspect it is running vB illegally then feel free to report it here: http://www.vbulletin.com/piracy.php

You can block the porno sites though. You can report the bullying on most sites as well.

Extreme forms of pornography are not allowed under UK law any more than they are elsewhere.
The best thing to do if you're concerned about a particular site is to get in touch with the Metropolitan Police in London, you can find their details on Google.

vBulletin has nothin to do with these forums - they just sell the software for us. Why don't you do a whois lookup on the domain, and see if its allowed by their host?

                      Niether do some admins.

Try googling up DMCA and reporting them through that.

Lol, it depends on the porn / trolling in question.

Child porn is illegal in many places as far as I'm aware. Bestiality is also illegal in some places.

"Trolling" in the form of threats or abuse could potentially be considered a crime or at least lead to an outcome that would be considered a crime.

I found that if you have a problem with bullying and other issues on other forums is to place a report to the DMCA which deals with most things and will issue take down notices.

There is no such thing as DMCA in the UK.

If you want to report all sites with explicit content and bullying, then you have quite a lot of work ahead of you. Unless you think that the site has illegal content, then there is nowhere to complain to.
If it is just that you strongly dislike the site content or the way that members behave, then dont visit. Find a nicer place. There is plenty on the net to choose from.
