Annoying IE 6.0 problem

Hi there!

I just switched from IE 5.5 to 6.0 (when I installed Windows XP) and now I have the most annoying problem.

When ever I click on a link which opens up a new window, the window opens, but the page never loads. Nothing happens at all. The window just pops up and then sits there. There is no status indication that it's doing anything and I have to right click on a link and select "copy shortcut" and then paste it into the new blank, dead window in order to get it to work. It's like Internet Explorer forgot what it was doing!

Any ideas on how to fix this most annoying problem?

are you sure in the upgrade process you IP and dns configuration were kept intact? you can check this in control panel , network connections..

Actually, I reformated my HDD... Maybe that's the problem.
