  • looking for a good chatroom to add.

We wont be buying out V bulletin forum untill June. But we are getting everything ready for it so we can quickly build it and get our members transfered to the new forum. So we are looking for a good chat room that we can add to our site that will give up admin settings but can not find one that isnt costing a fortune.

    If anyone could help out
    thanks

Cheapest solution is always IRC pick a network, register a room, have fun. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_Relay_Chat

You could use Cyb's Chatbox hack though.
Zach's suggestion is probably the easiest.
That's it. If you REALLY can't say ANYTHING nice to me at all on this forum, then I am going to go insanely mad at you. I've had enough of the UNTOLD ABUSE you are all giving me and you should really be CONSIDERATE of other people.

i have a chat room with my forum software i just need to install it. however this is kinda low on my list of things to get done.

my new work schedule is the only thing holding me back on getting stuff done all at once.

You could try the chat room from Tufat http://www.tufat.com/
Its a $5 chat room script, with life time updates and there are a couple of add on´s over at the org to make it integrate with Vbulletin admin area.
It works well and wont break the bank in the process
Integrates with the user database, so once signed into the forums, they can go to the chat room and not need to log in again.
I have been using it for a few years without any problems
          .

My forums are still running on 3.8 series, so I have not tried it with Vb4 series yet
But, the person behind the add ons that use for 3.8 Vb has released updated versions for the 4 series
Have a look at Paul's profile for the integration add on´s he has made
              http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/member.php?u=63698
              Anything Paul codes, works well
Plus Tufat have a support forum, which can be found on the original link above.

Do any of these chats suggested also have audio?

Just curious. I too am having to do this to my vbulletin site. Please add any suggestions. Thanks. also does anyone have any opinions on 123 flashchat? http://www.123flashchat.com

wow just talked to them the audio part of this chat costs 499. YIKES! up to 10 people can chat on the trial version for free.

I did see that flash cart has a mod to add audio however, you must be sure that you have FMS ( flash media server or red5 server) Just called my hosting compnay and it would cost an additional 15 a month to get these. ( hostgator)

We run a network that lets site owners add live chat to their site. We're open and allow multiple connections. We host various sites, including the official vBulletin.org chat room. One of our team members is also the author of the known vbulletin plugin that adds pjirc/mibbit option to vBulletin, for integration. For version 3 and 4.

                    More info here: http://vbirc.com/vbulletin
