So when it's released ... how do I upgrade? I hate vB4. I'm not going to use vB4. Am I supposed to pay a $166.00 fee to get the latest bug fix release for my owned and expired vB3 license?

Now that we're closer to the end of the second week, has a date been set yet?

I will not be upgrading to 3.8.5 until I am comfortable that it does not turn in to a fiasco. Years past with prior updqates I never had a problem. The "new" team at least to me is not seasoned with VB and based ont he VB4 disaster I am just going to sit back wait, watch and listen to others first. I can not afford to have any of my 3.x sites have a hiccup.

                          Yeah, they did.

If I'm not mistaken they had to re-release 3.8.4 to work with PHP4 and they still broke thread rating even with the 3.8.4 re-release.

during last year only 1 developer (AndyHuang) was working on 3.8.*, he is from old team, but working alone it's hard to reach quality of full team

basically everyone who have active vb3 license in 2009 was already sponsoring vb4 development with compromise to current stable v3 support

now they will be releasing 3.8.5 wich will be unavailable to half of their clients (who have just expired v3 license, forcing to buy v4 to get access to update)
