Can Admin read all PMs?

I am a moderator on a vBulletin 3.7.1 site and I cannot view members' PMs, I would like to know if it possible for them to be viewed by the Administrator.

No,you cannot read your members' PMs without modifying the code.

you can also see everything with phpmyadmin

Go to vbulletin.org for addons like this

You can also simply view the vbulletin database..

Different ways of doing it. It is possible but not without knowing sql or getting an addon or having access to the mysql database.

Private messages are... private, you shouldn't read them.

Also, there's a modification on vbulletin.org that facilitates reading them, made by a despicable human being.

In France, the article 226-15 from Penal code and article 9 from Civil code doesn't authorize you to see private correspondences between users. Even if they discuss about harassment or illegal activity.

After that, it depends of the country where the server of the forum is localized.

i do not think admin should be able to read private messages. it is not right, and i was surprised to find an addon that will allow you to do that in vbulletin.org.

It is illeagal to use that modificaion ( if you get caught) and or read your members private messages in several countries. I guess it is more base on your principles and how far you will stoop too in the end.

If authorities suspect some illegal activity then they will have the permit to read those PMs.
