Well... 29 Dollars (I guess 29 Euros in Germany?) is a really fair price for an operating system.

They should make it release... sooooon!

            Both of you are right

If you bought Leopard or a Mac (with Leopard) after June 7, you get Snow Leopard für 10 Dollars.

If you are running Leopard (i.e. before June 8), you get Snow Leopard as an Update for 30 Dollars.

And if you're running Tiger or want the full version, you will have to buy it at the full price.

At least that is what Phil Schiller said in his keynote for WWDC.

Yeah, but then it's $10 on top of the cost of the Apple hardware, which makes it much more expensive than $29.

Learn to read. $10 ONLY if you buy NEW HARDWARE on or after June 8, 2009. (And new hardware makes it much more expensive than $29.) And if you have Tiger, you need to buy the $169 bundle pack to get Snow Leopard.

I asked because Mozilla, Opera, Chrome, and internet explorer are all free.

Oh well it looks like my uncle is going have to pay for something that's probably going to be bad anyway. He has an Apple mac at home.

Safari is free, and does not require OSX.

                        To avoid confusion.

Windows from Microsoft, is an operating system that is not free for download.

Safari from Apple, is a program that is free for download.

OSX (Leopard / Snow Leopard) from Apple, is an operating system that is not free for download.
