Also it says the business is located in NA, not that the programmers are there. I know a lot of web design business in the UK advertise as being UK based, but they employ largely from India etc.

Because they are not charging $10.00 an hour, If you host your site with them at $79.95 a month, and get them to build it at a certain price.... you see how it is adding up. They will maintain it for you at $10.00 an hour though, billed weekly to a credit card of course. Sheesh.

That's the same, in my eyes.

I don't think anyone actually uses a stopwatch.

I suppose you write down the time that you start, and then the time that you finish. If it took 2.5 hours, then these guys would charge $25 for the job.

$10 an hour in Canada or the US would not give you much of a living. At least, not as compared with the standard of living in general.

Why do you think that Microsoft Frontpage is still being used today, even though Microsoft discontinued it 2 years ago.
Considering I've read some sites they've designed use broken javascript and barely work, I'd say that's rather different than a few minor HTML validation errors. And Frontpage is used because many people are lazy and don't bother to update programs from those years gone by. How many people are still using year 2000 versions or earlier of Microsoft programs? Probably a lot.

This is one of their sites, and it gave ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY errors in the HTML Validator:

    http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.furnituresearcher.com%2F&charset=(detect+automatically)&doctype =Inline&group=0&user-agent=W3C_Validator%2F1.654

Considering the general cheesiness and 90s style of the whole thing, it's pretty obvious why they'd only charge $10 an hour.

Edit: In case anyone was wondering what that had to do with the topic, the site linked above is their first site listed on this page:

Look at the html right on their company page. They're ten dollars an hour for a reason.

    Talk about ugly.

    HTML Code:

It's funny when these programming / web-development sites can't even validate their own sites.
