Did anybody else feel that the MS software was a real resource hog? I'm not sure if that was it but when I installed Onecare it really seemed to bog down my PC??

Lucky then that Morro will be the complete opposite. Not sure about OneCare, I only installed it as a trial (I don't really use anti-virus much, unless I'm planning to share files / connect to someone else's network, though I've never found anything) and it seemed okay, but I believe that was at beta stage.

On my laptop I use Eset NOD32. I don't and haven't used any virus protection on my desktop. Haven't for a few years now. Only reason I use it on my laptop is because I receive a lot of files from my team and some of them have no concept of security.

I like using mcafee. I have been using it for awhile now and it runs really good on my system.

AVG Free - not had a virus make it past it since I got it and a helluva lot lighter on my system that Norton ever was.

I personally use AVG since i've been accustomed to it for the past several years, however, there are quite a few excellent anti-virus softwares which are equally as efficient and some every better (in terms of using less system resources) such as Avast and Avira.

I dont know which Antivirus to buy, between these 2 anyone any ideas?

                      1. Kaspersky Internet Security 2010
                      2. BitDefender Total Security 2010

BitDefender looks really good but I have never used it before, but I do like the registy cleaner idea.

                      Anyone else used it before?

Before buying any of these, do try Avira Antivir Free Edition.

I am using it for ages now and I think it's very good.

I've been using "Morro" it's actually MSE, Microsoft Security Essentials and it seems to be doing the job, laptop is not noticeably slower at all, so all is great - can't tell the difference when ESET was installed so :P

PS. Morro isn't available in the UK yet, and most versions out there are leaked, there is an official Microsoft Connect group to beta test the software.

I've heard some say (Leo Laporte) that unless you know what you're doing, registry cleaners can sometimes do more harm than good.
