  • Firefox is driving me crazy!!

It crashes million times a day, I have to restart it everytime and it start crashing again.

I can't find a particular reason, It crashes if I'm opening only one tab or many, and If I'm opening heavy size pages or small pages.

I have some addons installed, not sure if it affects this crashing.

I'm also on the latest version: 3.0.8

Please post your suggestions here, because I started to hate the web because of firefox.

Have you tried completely uninstalling it (removing all files associated with it) and then installing it again?

Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

I re-installed windows, and still have the same problem. I can fix it for a while by restarting the computer, but it comes back after sometime.

Most likely a badly written FF Add-on you're using...maybe you could try Firefox 3.1 Beta 3 it's pretty stable (than again 3.08 is also pretty stable for must of us...) I've yet to find a browser that never crashes...but it can work for weeks without crashing.

FWIW I stopped using FF3 on my Mac last week because or frequent crashes. Somehow it even manages to make the Mac OS unstable, which is pretty hard to do.

              Also using no extensions.

Is it isolated to flash, have you noticed??

I hate Opera, it's awful in some ways. When I was on IE6 it never crashed, I guess I'll be giving FF 3.1 Beta a try.

Really? I haven't noticed any odd problems with mine. I take it you're using 10.5 maybe? I'm still on 10.4 (going to get a new iMac when 10.6 is released), so perhaps there is a difference there.

I can never get used to using opera. The way it works sometimes annoys me and I can't seem to get it to configure right. It's actually crashed on me a couple of times in the past too.
Congratulations on the death of vBulletin, Internet Brands.

Make sure you have Flash Player 10 installed within Firefox. There is a long standing bug with older versions and their interaction with Firefox that causes memory leaks and instability. Not sure if its 100% fixed with Flash 10 but it is a lot more stable.

Take 10 minutes to set it up as per my guide - it really is the most intuitive browser out there, but you gotta put the time into setting it up to your taste first
